Majority of Patients Report Positive Hospital Care Experience Despite Concerns

The latest National Inpatient Experience Survey reveals that a majority of patients rated their hospital care positively, with 83.8% feeling respected and 78.7% satisfied with pain management. However, significant concerns remain, as 19.7% reported difficulty finding staff to address worries and 72.6% experienced long wait times in emergency departments. The survey, which gathered feedback from over 12,000 patients, also highlighted disparities in experiences based on socioeconomic status. HSE Chief Executive Bernard Gloster stated that the feedback will be utilized to enhance services.
