Man Arrested After Assault on Off-Duty Gardaí in Dublin

A man has been arrested in connection with an assault on two off-duty gardaí in Dublin, leaving one critically injured. The attack, described as ‘unprovoked’, took place around 1:30 AM on Dame Street. Taoiseach Simon Harris and Tánaiste Micheál Martin condemned the violent incident, expressing support for the victims. Gardaí are conducting a forensic investigation and seeking witnesses, particularly those with mobile or dash-cam footage from the area during the time of the assault.
