Joe Butler, a 42-year-old resident of Mallow, has been charged with the murder of 31-year-old Paula Canty. Canty’s body was discovered in her home last Friday morning. Originally from Kinsale, Canty had recently moved to Mallow and was a mother of two. Butler appeared in Midleton District Court following the allegations.
