A 60-year-old man lost his leg during a packrafting incident in Tasmania after becoming trapped between rocks in the Franklin River. Rescuers attempted multiple methods to free him but ultimately made the difficult decision to amputate his trapped leg after his condition worsened. Despite the harrowing experience, the man maintained an optimistic outlook throughout the ordeal. He was airlifted to a hospital in Hobart, where he is reported to be in critical condition.
