Mass Arrival of Refugees and Migrants in Gavdos, Greece

A recent incident in Gavdos, Greece, saw the arrival of 50 refugees and migrants, predominantly from Bangladesh and Sudan. Due to a lack of ferry services, they will remain on the island until they can be transferred to temporary accommodations. Concurrently, authorities arrested two suspected human traffickers related to previous migrant arrivals. Currently, 92 individuals are on Gavdos, facing inadequate facilities and support, following several rescuing operations in the area.
