On November 17, 2024, Athens witnessed mass gatherings and marches with the participation of approximately 25,000 individuals, in commemoration of the 51st anniversary of the Polytechnic uprising. The Attica Police coordinated a flexible operational plan to ensure a safe environment for participants and the city’s infrastructure. Events took place across major avenues, concluding without significant incident, although 157 individuals were detained, and seven were arrested for various legal violations.
