Mexican authorities have detained more than 5,200 irregular migrants as part of a coordinated operation across the country, responding to pressure from U.S. President Donald Trump. Since October 1, nearly 350,000 migrants have been apprehended. Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum has promised to prevent migrant caravans from reaching the northern part of the country, increasing security efforts in light of Trump’s demands to restrict migration and synthetic drugs.
