Minister Madlener Announces Daytime Speed Limit Increase on Dutch Highways

Starting next year, drivers on three highway stretches in the Netherlands will be allowed to drive at a speed of 130 km/h during the day, according to Minister Mark Madlener of Infrastructure and Water Management. These routes include the A6, a section of the Afsluitdijk, and the A7. Research indicates no environmental objections on these routes, and the aim is to implement this change by the second quarter of 2025. The government is exploring further opportunities to raise speed limits on additional highways.
