Researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have created Boltz-1, an open-source artificial intelligence model designed to accelerate biomedical research and drug development. Boltz-1 competes with Google’s AlphaFold3 and aims to democratize access to cutting-edge tools in structural biology, enabling global collaboration among researchers. MIT graduate student Jeremy Goldwent highlights that this model is intended as a starting point for the scientific community, welcoming contributions from researchers worldwide.
