A magnitude 4 earthquake was recorded on the evening of December 16, 2023, off the Côte d’Azur, approximately 40 kilometers southeast of Nice, according to the French Central Seismological Bureau. The earthquake struck at 10:22 PM local time and could be felt along much of the coastline from Toulon to Monaco and the Italian border. Currently, there have been no reports of damage or casualties.
