Mount Lewotobi Erupts Again, Heightening Fears in Indonesia
Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki in Indonesia has erupted multiple times, causing alarm among residents already coping with a recent disaster that claimed at least ten lives. The volcanology agency recorded seven eruptions on Thursday, with the strongest launching ash 8,000 meters into the atmosphere. In response, authorities established a 7-kilometer exclusion zone around the volcano on Flores Island. Over 10,000 individuals are currently in temporary shelters, as officials caution about possible flash floods and cold lava flows in the upcoming days.
