Mountain Rescuers Urge Caution in the Pyrenees After Fatal Accidents
Mountain rescuers are warning hikers to exercise extreme caution in the Pyrenees due to hard and slippery snow conditions. Two women tragically died after slipping on the Cagire summit in Haute-Garonne on January 1. The first accident involved a 30-year-old woman who fell 300 meters, followed by a second woman who slipped later the same day. Both incidents occurred in close proximity, highlighting the dangers of this particular area, even outside of winter months.
