Multiple Carbon Monoxide Poisonings Linked to Charcoal Grills in Giswil
Last Saturday in Giswil, Switzerland, several individuals suffered from carbon monoxide poisoning, reportedly due to charcoal-powered table grills. The Obwaldner public prosecutor’s office noted that 17 of the 35 attendees at a gathering required hospitalization. Fortunately, all affected individuals have since been released. Investigations by the Forensic Institute of Zurich indicated high carbon monoxide levels linked to the grills. Emergency services from seven cantons responded, deploying rescue helicopters and police to the scene.
