The Municipality of Thessaloniki is facing issues with incorrect IBAN numbers printed on parking violation notices. Deputy Mayor Kostas Tsiapakidis stated that these errors, inherited from the previous administration, were only discovered after a citizen struggled to pay a fine. Starting January 1, 2025, all tickets will be issued electronically to avoid such mistakes in the future. The municipality plans to collaborate with banks to ensure accurate payments are recorded to prevent misunderstandings.
