Narges Mohammadi, the Iranian activist and 2023 Nobel Peace Prize laureate, has been temporarily released from prison for medical reasons after surgery for a tumor. While currently free, her future remains uncertain as authorities may require her to return to imprisonment. Mohammadi has long fought against mandatory hijab laws and for women’s rights in Iran, enduring years of detention and harassment. Despite her precarious situation, she continues to inspire others with her calls for female empowerment and justice within an oppressive regime.
