NASA’s Parker Solar Probe Successfully Survives Close Encounter with the Sun

NASA’s Parker Solar Probe has successfully completed a close flyby of the Sun, coming within 6.1 million kilometers of the solar surface. This historic maneuver, which occurred at speeds of 692,000 kilometers per hour, allowed the probe to gather crucial data despite extreme temperatures and radiation. Launched in 2018, the mission aims to deepen our understanding of solar processes and has also provided new insights into Venus during its orbit. The scientific data collected will be transmitted back to Earth in the new year.
