The National Directorate for Fire and Emergency Management (NDFEM) has announced its preparations for potentially disruptive wintry weather expected this weekend. Coordinating with Met Éireann and local authorities, NDFEM’s Local Authority Severe Weather Assessment Teams (SWATs) are monitoring conditions. Transport Infrastructure Ireland has ensured salt supplies for roads and footpaths. Keith Leonard, NDFEM’s National Director, urged caution for drivers and pedestrians and highlighted Cold Weather Initiatives for those sleeping rough during the cold spell.
