Netherlands to End International Child Adoption by 2030

The Dutch government will cease all international adoptions by 2030, as announced by State Secretary for Justice and Security, Maarten Struycken. Existing adoption processes can continue, but new applications will not be accepted due to past systemic abuses. Struycken emphasized the importance of children being raised in a safe environment within their own culture. This decision follows previous suspensions of international adoptions due to various irregularities.
