Netherlands to Implement Border Checks Amidst Immigration Crackdown

The Netherlands will introduce border checks on December 9, confirmed the spokesperson for Immigration Minister Marjolein Faber. These checks, lasting six months, will apply to its Schengen borders in response to a broader immigration crackdown proposed by the far-right government coalition led by Geert Wilders’ anti-Muslim PVV party. This decision aligns with similar measures taken by neighboring Germany.
