From 2026, Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) and Trenitalia will introduce direct train services connecting Zurich to Florence and Livorno, significantly enhancing cross-border travel. The partnership, which began in 2009, has successfully transported over 30 million passengers between Italy and Switzerland. Along with these routes, new connections to Milan and Venice will be established, and fresh Eurocity trains featuring modern designs and sustainable materials will make their debut. This cooperation aims to meet the growing demand for international travel, reflecting a commitment to eco-friendly transport.
