New Electric Link Set to Connect Dodecanese Islands to Greek Mainland

The Independent Power Transmission Operator (ADMHE) has announced the launch of a tender for the electrical interconnection project between Corinth and Kos, which is vital for connecting the Dodecanese islands to the mainland grid. The cable system, utilizing high-voltage direct current (HVDC) technology, involves a total budget of 1.42 billion euros and aims to improve energy security and environmental sustainability. The project will enhance the electricity supply to six islands and is expected to reduce public utility costs significantly over the coming decades. CEO Manos Manousakis emphasized the importance of this strategic investment for Greece’s green transition.
