New Initiative in the Netherlands Tackles Energy Poverty through Community Engagement
Milieu Centraal launches a pilot program to combat energy poverty among renters in the Netherlands, particularly those with migration backgrounds. The initiative utilizes familiar community figures to inform households about available energy assistance, aiming to reach the 400,000 households affected. The pilot is taking place in Apeldoorn, Zwijndrecht, and Arnhem, where energy coaches will work directly with communities to provide tailored energy-saving advice.
