A newly unveiled mural in Londonderry seeks to address the stigma surrounding breastfeeding, as statistics indicate lower breastfeeding rates in the area. The artwork, commissioned by the North West Breastfeeding and Perinatal Support group, features a mother breastfeeding her child, with a pixelated design intended to represent the feelings of censorship mothers experience. Project coordinator Sinead O’Kane hopes the mural will encourage discussion and provide a sense of community support for breastfeeding mothers.
