New Orleans Attack: Perpetrator Identified as Shamsud-Din Jabbar with Meta Smart Glasses
Shamsud-Din Jabbar, a US Army veteran, is identified as the attacker in a deadly New Year’s Day incident in New Orleans, killing 14 and injuring 35. Jabbar wore Meta smart glasses during the attack and had been scoping out the area in previous months. FBI investigations revealed his travels to Egypt and Canada may be linked to his actions. He had a troubled personal history, including financial difficulties and past marriages, and professed support for the Islamic State in videos he posted prior to the attack.
