Greece will establish a new agency for the acquisition and leasing of properties to assist borrowers who are at risk of losing their primary residences due to debt. This private body, selected through an international competition, is expected to begin operations by early April 2025. The agency will purchase properties at a 30% discount and allow current owners to stay in their homes for up to 12 years under subsidized rent, with the option to regain ownership if their financial situation improves.
