New Regulations Limit Ambulance Wait Times for Patients in France
A new decree proposed in France mandates that patients can wait no longer than 45 minutes for shared ambulance and taxi services, according to a report by Franceinfo. Despite calls from patient associations, immunocompromised patients will also be required to share transport. The updated rules aim to reduce healthcare costs, which surged to six billion euros in 2022. This change, part of a broader initiative passed by Parliament in fall 2023, is set to go before the Caisse nationale de l’Assurance Maladie on December 3.
