In January, Greece’s National Organization for Health Care Services Provision (EOPYY) will implement a new security system to curb illegal prescriptions. Patients will receive a notification on their mobile devices to consent to prescribed medications or exams at the moment of prescription. Starting in late March, EOPYY will also begin home delivery of expensive medications to 120,000 insured individuals, while continuing in-pharmacy services. The organization is intensifying checks on illegal prescriptions, with over 33,000 complaints registered.
