The leader of the Islamic armed alliance, Aḥmad al-Sāra, known as Abū Muḥammad al-Julānī, has called for a new social contract in Syria to ensure social justice among the country’s diverse religious and ethnic minorities. This plea comes after the alliance seized power earlier this month, ousting former President Bashar al-Assad. Al-Julānī emphasized the necessity of maintaining Syria’s unity while engaging with Druze community representatives to solidify this new framework.
