New Special Schools to Open in Ireland by September 2025

Five new special schools are set to open in Ireland by September 2025 to meet the rising demand for educational spaces for children with additional needs. Locations include Lucan and north Dublin in addition to schools in Cork, Castleblaney, and Nenagh. The Department of Education is facilitating admissions and staffing arrangements, with the schools repurposing existing buildings. Education Minister Norma Foley emphasized the significance of the new school in Monaghan, confirming details about admissions and capacities will be provided soon.
