The Greek government has approved the establishment of new sports schools in Thessaloniki, as part of a broader initiative to support educational opportunities in economically challenging areas. Starting in the new academic year, these schools will provide education for 6,000 students and will be under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education. The Onassis Foundation will handle renovations, scholarships, and operational costs while teachers will be drawn from existing public school staff.
