A recent study by astrophysicist Quentin Kral from the Paris-PSL Observatory questions the prevailing theory about how water arrived on Earth shortly after its formation. Kral proposes a revised model where icy asteroids deliver water more gently through a vapor disk that bathes planets in water, rather than violent impacts. While the model shows promise in numerical simulations, it awaits confirmation from observations using a large telescope in Chile, with results expected soon.
