Greece’s Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Vasilis Oikonomou, discusses forthcoming changes to the Road Traffic Code aimed at reducing traffic fatalities. Key adjustments include lowering urban speed limits from 50 km/h to 30 km/h, imposing stricter penalties for traffic violations, and introducing regulations for electric scooters. Notably, users under 15 will be prohibited from riding scooters. A digital fine system will also be implemented to streamline law enforcement and improve safety across the country.
