Niko Sifounakis Honored as Honorary Citizen of Western Lesbos
Niko Sifounakis, former Governor of Lesbos and Minister, was honored as an honorary citizen of Western Lesbos during a ceremony at the Municipal Theater of Kalloni. Recognized for his contributions to preserving Lesbos’ natural and cultural heritage, he played a significant role in the establishment of the Petrified Forest Museum. The event also honored Niko Zourou, the museum’s director for 30 years, along with architects who contributed to the museum’s design. Sifounakis announced the donation of a former mill building to the municipality for restoration and development.
