Nobian Becomes First Major Company to Sign CO2 Emission Reduction Agreement with Dutch Government
Nobian, a key salt producer in the Netherlands, has signed a groundbreaking agreement with the government to reduce CO2 emissions by transitioning its factories in Delfzijl and Hengelo from gas to electricity. Minister Christine Hermans is set to sign the contract, which aims to drastically cut emissions by 525 kilotons annually. With government subsidies facilitating this transition, Nobian plans to achieve CO2 neutrality by 2030—ten years ahead of schedule. This move is part of broader efforts to meet the Netherlands’ climate goals and to encourage other industrial companies to follow suit.
