Noise Pollution Affects Reading Skills of 550,000 European Children, Report Reveals
A report from the European Environment Agency highlights that noise pollution is detrimental to the reading abilities of approximately 550,000 children across Europe. The study, covering 32 countries including all EU member states, indicates that over 20% of the population lives in areas with harmful noise levels, particularly from road traffic. This noise exposure is linked to various health problems, including cognitive issues in youth and increased risks of cardiovascular and mental diseases.
