The independent Pay Review Body’s recommendation of a 5.5% pay increase for health staff has yet to be implemented in Northern Ireland, despite its acceptance in England, Wales, and Scotland. Union representatives express that healthcare workers feel undervalued and disrespected, emphasizing that action will likely occur if their concerns are not met. Health Minister Mike Nesbitt acknowledges budgetary challenges and is scheduled to discuss the situation with health unions soon.
