Norway Approaches Goal of Zero Gasoline and Diesel Cars by 2025

In Norway, 90% of new cars sold last year operated solely on battery power, edging the country closer to its ambitious goal of exclusively electric vehicles by 2025. Fully electric vehicles made up 88.9% of new sales in 2024, up from 82.4% in 2023. Kristina Bu, head of the Norwegian Electric Vehicle Association, stated that Norway is set to become the first country to virtually eliminate gasoline and diesel vehicles from the new car market.
