Notre-Dame Cathedral Rises Again After Devastating Fire

Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris is being restored following severe damage from a fire in April 2019 that resulted in the collapse of its iconic spire. Over 600 firefighters battled the flames for more than 15 hours, saving the structure but causing significant harm. French President Emmanuel Macron promised a five-year timeline for reopening the cathedral, and fundraising efforts gathered €846 million from major donors and small contributors. Approximately 2,000 skilled workers are now involved in the restoration project, which aims to showcase traditional craftsmanship.
