Notre-Dame de Paris Presbytery Officially Designated as Historical Monument
The presbytery of Notre-Dame de Paris has been officially classified as a historical monument, following a request by Culture Minister Rachida Dati. This designation comes after the cathedral and its sacristy were added to the historic monument list in 1862. The presbytery, designed in neo-Gothic style by Eugène Viollet-le-Duc in 1866, is now part of a comprehensive conservation effort. The cathedral recently reopened on December 7, 2024, after extensive renovations, marking its first Christmas mass since the devastating 2019 fire.
