Notre-Dame de Paris Reopens After 700 Million Euros in Restoration

Following an extensive restoration effort costing 700 million euros, Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris is set to reopen to the public on December 7 and 8, 2023. Funded by 846 million euros raised from 340,000 donors, including significant contributions from wealthy families and corporations, the restoration marks a critical phase in the cathedral’s recovery following the devastating fire in 2019. The remaining funds will support a third phase of restoration starting in 2025, although additional fundraising will be necessary to cover the projected shortfall.
