Oldenburg Court Sentences Man to Prison for Assaulting Farmer During Protest

A 46-year-old man was sentenced to three years and seven months in prison after he drove through a blockade during a farmers’ protest, injuring a farmer seriously. The court found him guilty of attempted manslaughter and dangerous bodily harm, noting that he acted with intent to kill, indifferent to the consequences. He must also surrender his driver’s license for four years. The incident occurred in January when farmers protested against government subsidy cuts.
