Over 479 Arrested in Major Crime Crackdown in Thessaly
In October, law enforcement officials in Thessaly arrested 479 individuals for various offenses, including attempted murder, drug violations, and burglary. Authorities uncovered significant criminal activities, seizing drugs, weapons, and cash during coordinated operations aimed at preventing crime. Notably, 70 people were charged with drug-related offenses, 40 for thefts, and additional arrests included cases of extortion and document forgery. Many of those arrested face multiple charges under Greek law, highlighting ongoing efforts to address rising crime rates in the region.
