In the recent elections for the leadership of the Rhodes Labor Center, Panaigios Englezos led the Democratic Trade Union Unity (D.H.S.Y.E) to a decisive victory, obtaining 94% of the votes. The rival Democratic Struggle Cooperation (D.A.S) received 6%. Out of 292 votes cast, D.H.S.Y.E secured 270, gaining 14 seats on the board, while D.A.S obtained 1 seat. The entire representation for the General Confederation of Greek Workers (GSEE) was also won by D.H.S.Y.E.
