Paris Introduces Traffic Restrictions with a Plan for QR Code Verification

Starting November 4, Paris will implement a low-traffic zone (ZTL) covering 5.5 km² in the central districts. Only emergency vehicles, buses, taxis, and local residents will be allowed to enter. Mayor Ariel Weil confirms there will be no immediate sanctions, as the initial phase focuses on education. In six months, a QR code or app may be introduced for self-declaration of permitted entries. This system is modeled after successful implementations in numerous Italian cities over the past three decades.
