Participation of South Aegean Region in New Citizens’ Energy Community Approved
The Regional Council of the South Aegean has approved its participation in the newly established Citizens’ Energy Community, as part of the ‘Apollo’ program aimed at reducing energy costs through renewable energy sources. The initiative, set by the Ministry of Environment and Energy, allows local government entities to create energy communities, providing social benefits and financial savings for local authorities, particularly municipalities. Regional Governor Georgios Chatzimarkos emphasized the importance of this initiative for providing cheaper electricity for local administration operations.
