Paul Watson, the founder of Sea Shepherd, has returned to France after five months in detention in Denmark, which rejected Japan’s extradition request. Arriving at Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport on December 20, 2024, the 74-year-old American-Canadian environmental activist is set to spend Christmas with his family. Following his release, a welcoming rally is planned in Paris to celebrate his return after 149 days in prison.
