Pentagon Corrects US Troop Count in Syria to 2,000
The Pentagon has revealed that there are currently about 2,000 U.S. soldiers stationed in Syria, more than double the previously reported figure of 900. This adjustment highlights additional troops that had been in the country prior to the fall of President Bashar al-Assad’s regime. Pentagon spokesperson Pat Ryder stated these extra forces have been in Syria for some time, with the discrepancy in numbers recognized only recently.
