During the 39th International Tourism and Hotel Equipment Exhibition ‘Philoxenia-Hotelia’, a tribute to iconic composer Mikis Theodorakis took place in Thessaloniki. The event featured performances by the Neaniki Orchestra of Menemeni, led by conductor Kostas Gekousidis, and the Menemeni Youth Choir under Maria Vlahopoulou, celebrating the 50th anniversary of Greece’s return to democracy and the Turkish invasion of Cyprus. The exhibition also highlighted Theodorakis’ anti-dictatorship activism and will showcase a digital museum dedicated to the composer, set to open in 2025 for his 100th birthday.
