Poland Designates TVN as Critical Infrastructure Against Russian Influence
In a significant move, Poland’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk has declared the TVN broadcasting group as critical infrastructure to safeguard it from foreign interference, particularly concerning potential acquisitions by media companies linked to Moscow. This decision, reflecting heightened concerns about Russian impact on Polish media and elections, also requires government approval for any sale of the network. Tusk emphasized the necessity of protecting national interests in light of external threats, while some economists criticized the government’s market interventions.
