The Mytilene Municipality’s Environment and Development Department reports successful outcomes in managing stray companion animals in 2024. By January 1, 2024, 352 adoptions were completed and 15 more were in process, alongside approximately 1,270 rescue operations. The municipality also conducted around 600 sterilizations, with 90% targeting strays and 10% for owned pets, benefiting sensitive social groups.
